Kathmandu, August 31
The road has been washed away at Parewatar, located in Dhading’s Gajuri Rural Municipality-3, along the Prithvi Highway.
Dhading Police say the road collapsed after continuous erosion of its base caused by the Trishuli River flood.
According to police, the base of that section has been steadily eroding since Sunday due to the Trishuli flood, and the road has now caved in, blocking traffic in both directions.
Earlier, the same highway was fully blocked when the road washed away at Krishnabhir, also due to the Trishuli flood.
Following the flood damage to that stretch, vehicles travelling to and from the federal capital, Kathmandu, have been using three alternate routes via Narayanghat in Chitwan and Hetauda as detours.
