
Kathmandu, August 24
Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav and Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Vo Thi Anh Xuan, who is on an official visit to Nepal, have begun a bilateral meeting in Kathmandu.
Xuan, who arrived in Kathmandu on Saturday, held talks with Vice President Yadav on Sunday morning, immediately after which the bilateral meeting commenced.
She is visiting Nepal at the invitation of Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Vietnam.
On the very day of her arrival, Saturday, she held talks with Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba. During the meeting, Minister Rana proposed direct flights from Vietnam to Pokhara and Bhairahawa International Airports. Nepal believes that such flights could significantly increase the number of tourists arriving from Vietnam. This matter will also be discussed in the bilateral meeting.
Xuan is also scheduled to meet Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting will cover various issues of mutual relations and cooperation between the two countries.
On Monday, Vice President Xuan will meet President Ram Chandra Paudel and visit Patan Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Stupa, and other sites. She will then return to Vietnam .
This marks the first high-level visit from Vietnam to Nepal.
