The Chitwan District Administration Office has decided to block vehicles from plying the Narayangadh-Muglin road, which is being expanded for last few years, for six hours, from 10 am to 4 pm, from coming Saturday, January 27.

Earlier, the vehicles were being blocked during the nighttime, from 10 pm to 4 am.

A meeting of stakeholders including officials of the road improvement project and representatives of contractors involved made the decision today.

“Blocking the road during the nighttime could not result in exciting progress,” Consultant Manager at the Supreme Rautaha Construction Company, Shishir Kangangwa, says, “Performing the works was difficult.”

The project has just one month to meet the deadline, but around 29 per cent work is yet to be done,” the project chief Chandra Narayan Yadav says, adding the project should have completed 92 per cent works by now.

Chief District Officer Narayan Prasad Bhatta says the decision will be effective for next one month and another decision will be made based on the progress made till then.
