Kathmandu, June 2
The main opposition CPN-UML might choose to field its influential Vice-Chairman Bamdev Gautam in the election of prime minister to be held next week.
The party’s Standing Committee member Shankar Pokhrel told journalists today that the party could not accept the NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba as the sole candidate for the PM under any condition.
Meanwhile, Pokhrel also hinted that his party “could rethink” if any leader other than Deuba would run for the PM.
Meanwhile, the leader stressed that the second phase of local level elections should be held on time, hoping the Madhesh-centric Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal would also participate in the polls.
