UML leader Nepal’s Gaur visit sparks demo, clash between cops and UDMF cadres

Police and UDMF cadres clashed in Rautahat district headquarters Gaur as the latter tried to intervene in a programme that CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal was attending as the chief guest.

At BP Chok, UDMF cadres burnt tyres against Nepal’s visit to his home district. Nepal was here to attend a programme welcoming cadres from other parties to the UML fold.

While Nepal was addressing the programme at Barrack Field, at BP Chok, which is 400 metres west of the field, UDMF cadres were clashing with police.

Some protesteres and police personnel have sustained injuries. Police used force after protesters pelted them with stones.

Meanwhile, Prabhat Kumar Jha, Himalaya Television’s Rautahat correspondent, sustained injuries when Armed Police Force personnel thrashed him. Jha has sustained injuries in his legs and stomach.
