Kathmandu, December 21

The CPN-UML has called its powerful Standing Committee meeting to discuss recent political developments after provincial and federal parliamentary elections held on November 26 and December 7.

The meeting is expected to make some significant decisions as the UML has emerged as the largest political party of the country from the polls and its Chairman KP Sharma Oli is most likely to be elected the next prime minister.

Likewise, it will also hold discussions on preparations for the party’s unification with CPN-Maoist Centre. The meeting will review the polls and begin procedures to select its lawmakers under the proportional representation election, informs party leader Krishna Gopal Shrestha.

The meeting will be held at party Vice-Chairman Bamdev Gautam’s residence in Bhainsepati of Lalitpur.
