Ukrainian held with 2 kg hashish from Kathmandu airport

Kathmandu, November 8

Police in Kathmandu recently arrested a Ukrainian national in possession of two kilograms of hashish from Nepal’s single international airport, Tribhuvan International Airport.

A team deployed from the Narcotics Control Bureau of Nepal Police arrested a 42-year-old Ukranian who was boarding a Jet Airways flight to Mumbai, police say.

The alleged smuggler was on the way to Ukraine via Mumbai.

Police had found the contraband hidden in a pair of sport shoes and an Ayurvedic medicine jar in his suitcase during a security check.

The suspect has been taken to the NCB custody and further investigation is underway, according to police.
