The United Democratic Madheshi Front said on Friday it will support the no-confidence motion tabled against the KP Oli government unconditionally. However, it said, it will take a decision on whether or not to help with formation of a new government only after discussion on agendas.

The UDMF stated its position in course of discussions with leaders of Nepali Congress and CPN-Maoist Centre at the NC Parliamentary Party Office, on Friday.

After the meeting, Centre’s Vice-chair Narayan Kaji Shrestha said: They (UDMF leaders) have said there should be a discussion on concrete agendas regarding the formation of a new government.

UDMF leaders, according to a source, have demanded the NC-Centre’s commitment to fulfilling their demands.

On their part, the Congress and the Centre pointed that the seven-point agreement had pledged to bring parties, including the agitating UDMF, to an agreement. They asked the UDMF not to be suspicious of their intention.

Talking to journalists after the meeting, NC leader Bimalendra Nidhi claimed that the UDMF will also help with formation of a new government, apart from supporting the no-trust motion.

There has been an understanding to make Prachanda the Prime Minister, Nidhi said, adding: Addressing Madhesh’s discontent will be the top priority of the new government.

Nidhi said they will amend the Constitution for this, if need be.
