Two young stars find berth in Nepal’s final squad for ICC WCL Division Two

Kathmandu, January 25

Nepal’s final team for the 2018 ICC World Cricket League Division Two has been announced on Thursday.

Two young players, Rohit Kumar Paudel and Anil Kumar Sah, have been included in the team for the first time. The two U-19 players had impressed fans with their excellent performance in recent Everest Premier League.

Other members of the Paras Khadka-led team are Gyanendra Malla (Vice-Captain), Basanta Regmi, Sharad Vesawkar, Sompal Kami, Aarif Sheikh, Sandeep Lamichhane, Dipendra Singh Airee, Dilip Nath, and Lalit Bhandari. Sunil Dhamala, Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi, Siddhanta Lohani and Kishor Mahato have been listed as extra players.

ICC Representative Aminul Islam, Nepal team’s coach Jagat Tamatta and Captain Khadka made the selection.

The event is scheduled for next month in Namibia. Nepal will lock horns with the hosts in their first match on February 8.

Team will travel to the UAE for preparations of the event on Saturday.  Nepal will play three practice matches in the UAE before travelling to Namibia on February 4.
