Janakpurdham, December 4
Two persons died when a pickup truck crashed in Maisthan of Mahottari district along the East-West Highway in the wee hours of Wednesday.
Shakuntala Devi Sah, 80, from Dhanusha Dham-2 of Dhanusha district and Bartaniya Devi Mahato, 65, an Indian citizen, died in the accident, according to police. Seriously injured, they were taken to Shubha Swastik Hospital in Bardibas, where they succumbed to injuries.
It has been learned that they were returning from the Gadhimai festival in Bara district.
Meanwhile, 16 persons sustained injuries in the accident and two are critical. The two are undergoing treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan.
