Trishuli flood sweeps away Charaundi suspension bridge

Kathmandu, August 30

Flooding in the Trishuli River has swept away the suspension bridge at Charaundi.

The heavy flooding in the Trishuli River on Sunday morning swept away the Charaundi suspension bridge, which connects Gandaki Rural Municipality in Gorkha with Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality in Dhading.

According to the District Police Office, Dhading, the floodwaters snapped the suspension bridge and damaged it.

The flood has also damaged another suspension bridge over the Trishuli River at Dhawadi.

Gandaki Rural Municipality Vice-Chairperson Lalita Adhikari said the intensity of the flooding was so high that it swept away the suspension bridge.
