Kathmandu, July 12
Police have arrested a tipper driver on the charge of raping a woman inside a tipper in Thankot of Kathmandu.
A team of Police Circe, Thankot, arrested Gyan Bahadur Nepali, 32, of Gauri Shankar rural municipality-8 in Dolakha on Monday for raping a 17-year-old girl inside a tipper parked on the way to Thankot depot of the Nepal Oil Corporation at Chandragiri municipality-7.
SP Dinesh Raj Mainali says the suspect had raped the woman on July 8 inside the parked tipper (Ra 1 Kha 2734). The tipper driver Nepali had brought the woman along with him to Thankot from Gaushala in the tipper.
The team deployed under the leadership of DSP Dilli Narayan Pandey rescued the woman and sent her to Maternity Hospital for treatment, he adds.
Investigation into the case is underway, remanding Nepali to five-day custody.
