Kathmandu, February 3

There will not be any written and practical tests for obtaining driving licences in Kathmandu this Friday due to a mass demonstration being organised by the Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli-led faction of the Nepal Communist Party.

The Metropolitan Traffic Police Division says the examinations cannot be held that day because the demonstration will throw the valley’s traffic management into shambles and hence additional personnel should be mobilised to ensure smooth supply of vehicles. It means there will not be sufficient personnel to examine the candidates.

The division has already informed concerned transport management offices of its decision.

The Oli faction of the split party is demonstrating this Friday in its bid to prove that people support the side.
