Kathmandu, February 20
The coordinator of Tharuhat Tharuwan Rastriya Mukti Morcha, Laxman Tharu, has ended his indefinite hunger strike on Thursday.
Tharu had launched the fast-unto-death on February 13 putting forth various demands including the withdrawal of ‘fake’ cases regarding the Tharuhat Movement. After his health condition worsened, he was admitted to the Provincial Hospital.
Tharu agreed to break the fast after local political leaders agreed to help him meet the demands. Tharu sipped juice from the hands of Kailali’s Chief District Officer Yagya Raj Bohora to break the fast.
