The Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital on Thursday formed a nine-member committee to look after the health of medical education reform activist Dr Govinda KC, who has been staging a fast-unto-death demanding a new medical education law for last 27 days.
The Hospital’s Executive Director Mandira Wanta says the committee members include Dr Pradeep Krishna Shrestha, Dr Dibya Singh Shah, Dr Subas Acharya, Dr Pramesh Sundar Shrestha, Dr Surya Devkota, Dr Pankaj Panta, Dr Rabin Nepali, Deputy Administrator Tek Bahadur Karki and Nursing Officer Ganga Thapa.
Dr Shrestha and Dr Shah have been given the responsibility of coordinator jointly.
Dr Shah, personal physician for Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, has been working as a mediator between the government and Dr KC’s teams for the talks.
The team has been mandated to provide all kinds of necessary treatment to the senior orthopaedic surgeon in coordination and cooperation with various departments of the Hospital.
