Teachers and public bus workers to get Covid-19 vaccines in next phase

Kathmandu, February 21

The government has decided to vaccinate school and college teachers and public bus workers also against Covid-19 in the next phase when senior citizens above the age of 55 will get vaccines.

The phase is likely to begin on March 7.

A meeting of the ministry held on Sunday made the decision, informs the ministry.

The decision comes on the same day Nepal received one million doses of Covishield vaccines from India. This is the first time Nepal has bought Covid-19 vaccines. So far, Nepal has been using the vaccines it received from India as a grant.

Another lot of one million doses is also coming soon as Nepal has already made an advance payment.

Meanwhile, the staff of pharmacies, laboratories will be vaccinated on Sunday and Monday.
