India vice-captain Smriti Mandhana has become the highest run-scorer in women’s T20 international cricket.
Mandhana set the record while scoring 37 runs off 19 balls against Bangladesh in the semifinal of the Asian Games, surpassing New Zealand’s Suzie Bates.
The 30-year-old, who made her international debut for India in 2013, is regarded as one of the most successful batters in women’s cricket. She has scored 4,751 runs in women’s T20 internationals so far.
Mandhana had previously become the highest run-scorer in women’s international cricket while playing against Hong Kong in the 2026 Women’s Asia Cup. She has now scored 10,950 international runs across all three formats.
The left-handed opener has scored 14 centuries in One-Day Internationals and two in T20 internationals. She is currently ranked No. 1 in the ICC Women’s ODI batting rankings and fifth in the T20I batting rankings.
