Kathmandu, August 14
Six persons have died in a landslide in Naku, Mahabai village of Kalikot in the Karnali province on Thursday night.
The landslide had buried the house of Raj Bahadur Bista, the chairman of the ward 3 of Mahabai rural municipality. The local leader lost his four children including two sons and two daughters, and two nieces (daughters of his brother Dil Bahadur Bista), according to Khem Singh, the personal secretary of Karnali Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi. Singh says he is in the incident site currently.
The District Police Office has also confirmed the death of six, adding the victims are yet to be identified.
