Silwal appointed member secretary of National Sports Council

Kathmandu, July 8

Ramesh Silwal has been appointed the new member secretary of National Sports Council on Monday.

He was appointed to the post, considered a key position in the field of sports, by Minister for Youth and Sports Jagat Bahadur Biswakarma. The post of Member Secretary was left vacant after Keshav Kumar Bista’s term ended on June 24.

Siliwal, who is the co-chairman of a NCP’s youth wing Youth Association, is believed to be close to PM KP Sharma Oli. Silwal was formerly a board member of Golden Gate college and chairman of Madan Bhandari Sports Academy. The government had also tried to appoint Silwal as the president of Cricket Association of Nepal’s ad-hoc committee.
