Kathmandu, April 26

On the occasion of Shivata Love Foundation‘s seventh anniversary, an exhibition titled ‘Shivata 29: Giclee prints & Photography exhibition’ kicked off on April 21 at the Gallery of Creatives, Hotel Royal Singi, Kamaladi Kathmandu.

The exhibition features two veteran artists from India and Belgium—Prof Jai Krishna Agrawal (Printmaker) and Late Willy Grela (Photographer).

Late Grela learned photography from a neighbour and used to have a photography lab in his home. His passion for photography allowed him to become a photography teacher in 1971 until his retirement in 1993. After retiring, he continued to participate in amateur photo contests and was the editor of the newsletter of a photographers’ association.

In the exhibition, his subjects of interest such as rural landscapes and flowers are on display. The rural landscapes are monochrome while the flowers are colourful.

Meanwhile, in the exhibition one can see the prints by Prof Agarwal former Principal-cum-Dean of College of Arts, University of Lucknow India. The architecture that he has captured in his prints seems surreal and dreamlike, exposing the beauty in the non-living things.

The proceeds from the exhibition will be handed to Shivata Love Foundation.

The exhibition continues till April 27.
