Shakya, Phuyal and Sthapit on UML’s Kathmandu provincial assembly candidate list

The CPN-UML is fielding various well-known names including its central Vice-Chairperson Ashta Laxmi Shakya for provincial assembly elections in Kathmandu district.

Other candidates for the provincial assembly includes former mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Keshav Sthapit, and former lawmaker Rameshwor Phuyal.

Below is the list of UML candidates for Kathmandu district who will file their nominations today.

House of Representatives

  • Constituency 2: Madhav Kumar Nepal
  • Constituency 3: Krishna Rai
  • Constituency 4: Rajan Bhattarai
  • Constituency 5: Ishwar Pokharel
  • Constituency 7: Rambir Manandhar
  • Constituency 8: Jeevan Ram Shrestha
  • Constituency 9: Krishna Gopal Shrestha

Maoist leaders Anil Sharma, Jhakku Prasad Subedi and Hitman Shakya will contest the polls from constituencies 1, 6 and 10 respectively with the UML support.

Provincial assembly

  • Constituency 1 A: Bishnu Kumari Bhusal
  • Constituency 1 B: Ganesh Dulal
  • Constituency 2 A: Sanu Kumar Shrestha
  • Constituency 2 B: Maniram Phuyal
