Secretary transfer was UML’s unilateral decision: Maoist ministers

Kathmandu, April 9

Leaders who represent the CPN-Maoist Centre to the CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli-led government have complained to the party leadership that they were not consulted before transferring secretaries last week.

Earlier last week, the government had transferred 30 secretaries on the eve of Prime Minister Oli’s state visit to India.

The ministers met their party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal this morning to brief him about tasks they have performed so far. On the occasion, they also spoke about the UML’s unilateral decision making practices, according to the party’s spokesperson Pampha Bhusal.

“It should have been discussed in the Cabinet meeting. It would have been better to consult everyone as we are preparing to unify the parties,” says Bhusal.

A leader who was present at the meeting quoted a minister as saying, “We have to face the consequences of such decisions. Therefore, we will talk with the Prime Minister. But, we also want the party leadership to talk about it.”

Meanwhile, during the meeting, Dahal directed them to adopt result-oriented working style.

The party’s third-in-command leader Ram Bahadur Thapa leads the party’s team in the government.
