Sastodeal, a leading online shopping store in Nepal, has partnered with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the UN Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) to help 3,500 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Nepal.

The company says the support will digitise the operations of these MSMEs, at least 60 per cent of whom are women-owned. Sastodeal will help MSMEs digitise payments, delivery and post-sales services in rural areas in Nepal, boosting their sales and helping them recover from the effects of the pandemic.

Thanks to combined funding of USD 100,000 from the SDC and UNCDF, the e-commerce company will receive performance-based grants and technical assistance to provide access to digital marketplaces for last-mile MSMEs.

Working with MSMEs across all seven provinces of Nepal, the online store will help bridge the digital divide between large businesses and MSMEs, it says.
