Sarlahi bus-bike collision kills 1

Sarlahi, January 30

One man has died whereas 13 others sustained injuries in a bus-bike collision in the Sarlahi district of southeastern Nepal on Saturday night.

The victim has been identified as Bhakta Bahadur Khadka (27), a resident of Baribathan, Ishwarpur municipality-12 of the district, inform police. Khadka was riding pillion on the motorbike (Na 29 Pa 4978) involved in the accident.

The motorbike had collided with a bus (Na 7 Kha 753) en route to Kathmandu from Bariyapatti, Siraha, head-on in a forest area along the East-West Highway in Ishwarpur-12. Following the collision, the bus had fallen off on the roadside.

Meanwhile, the bike rider, Arun Khadka (26), a resident of Gharibathan, Ishwarpur-12 is seriously injured. He has been referred to the National Medical College, Birgunj after preliminary treatment at Gadhimai Hospital, Lalbandi.

other 12 persons travelling on the bus have also been injured. Seven of them have returned home after treatment at the Lalbandi Model Hospital whereas others are undergoing treatment there.
