Samsung released another premium budget smartphone in Nepal, Samsung Galaxy M14 5G. It is currently the cheapest 5G smartphone by Samsung in Nepal. It carries the universal design of all the Samsung smartphones released this year. It beats its own sibling Samsung A14 5G in terms of price for being the cheapest Samsung 5G phone available in Nepal.

Design and display

The design of Samsung Galaxy M14 5G is very similar to all the Samsung smartphones released this year but with simple changes. It has a curved back and sides, instead of a flat back with the cameras popping out.

The triple camera setup is on level terms with the back panel giving a classy look of previous phones from Samsung. Its back and side panels are made up of plastic, which is glossy with fewer finger smudges. The front display is standard with a standard bezel size and a drop-notch front camera placement.

It has a 6.6-inch PLS LCD display with a 16M colour depth. It has a resolution of 1080X2408 (FHD+) pixels and a max refresh rate of 90Hz. It is protected using a Corning Gorilla Glass 5, which is rare in this price range of smartphones.

Samsung Galaxy M14 5G has Android 13 OS with One UI core 5.1 providing a seamless and intuitive user interface. The device is powered by the Exynos 1330 chipset, built on a 5nm process, ensuring efficient performance. Camera

Samsung Galaxy M14 5G comes with a triple rear camera setup that includes a 50MP main camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. The primary camera has an F1.8 aperture while the macro and depth sensor cameras have F2.4 apertures. It is equipped with autofocus but lacks OIS for proper steady photos and videos. It has 10X digital zoom to snap far-away pics and it can record 1080P FHD videos at 30fps.

The front includes a 13MP selfie camera, which can record 1080P videos at 30fps but lacks autofocus and OIS.

Battery and others

Samsung Galaxy M14 5G includes a massive 6000mAh li-po non-removable battery. It can be charged using a 25W wired charger. With normal use, it can last two days without being charged.

The sensors on the smartphone include an accelerometer, fingerprint sensor, gyro sensor, geomagnetic sensor, light sensor and proximity sensor. The fingerprint sensor is side mounted on the power button and is fast with instant response.

The device offers a USB Type-C interface for fast data transfer and charging and supports a range of location technologies including GPS and Glonass. Samsung Galaxy M14 5G might do good in the Nepali market for being a cheap 5G option. However, there are many other options available in the same price range such as Samsung A14 5G and Redmi 12 5G. Yet, the phone is good for premium budget seekers.
