Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhee Prasad Yadav says he is sad to see the government flout the code of conduct for the upcoming polls, time and again.
Yadav, who was speaking at a programme in Kathmandu on Thursday, said that it was the role of the government to make the people aware of the code of conduct, but instead of doing that it is itself flouting the norms, that too repeatedly.
Yadav alleged that the government has undermined the Election Commission by not paying heed to repeated calls to not flout the election norms. He also said that if the government did not amend its ways, the conducive environment prepared for polls could be affected.
