2 killed in Rupandehi ambulance-motorbike collision

Two persons died in an ambulance-motorbike collision in the Rupandehi district of Lumbini on Sunday.

The victims have been identified as Anamol Thapa (34), a resident of Tilottama municipality-3 of the district, and Nishan Chhetri (35), a resident of Sainamaina-4 of the district. Thapa was riding the two-wheeler (Lu 24 Pa 3978) whereas Chhetri was riding pillion.

The bike, heading westwards from Butwal along the East-West Highway, was hit by the ambulance (Lu 1 Jha 287) head-on, at Tamnagar, Butwal-12.

The ambulance driver, Surendra Murau (36), a resident of Gaidahawa rural municipality, sustained injuries. Following minor treatment at the Lumbini Provincial Hospital, police have detained him for further investigation, informs the Provincial Traffic Police Office spokesperson DSP Dilli Narayan Pandey.
