Kathmandu, May 19
The Rastriya Prajatantra Party has registered its first victory in the local level elections held on Sunday.
The RPP candidate Cherung Tamang won the chairperson’s position in Rubi Valley Rural Municipality in Dhading district by defeating CPN-Maoist Centre’s Ram Singh Tamang.
Cherung garnered 1,486 against 953 of Ram Singh.
Naya Shakti-Forum also makes win
Meanwhile, the Naya Shakti-Federal Socialist Forum alliance won the elections in Parvati Kunda Rural Municipality in Rasuwa district.
Buchung Tamang was elected the chairperson in the unit.
