Rautahat man, being rushed to hospital, dies during 12-hour traffic jam

Kathmandu, September 27

A man from Rautahat district died while he was being taken to a hospital in Kathmandu on Friday morning. Rup Lal Sah (35) from Gaur-7 of Rautahat was stuck in a traffic jam for 12 hours reportedly.

Shah was travelling on a passenger bus (Na 7 Kha 5364) from his home district to the capital, but it was stuck in the congestion at Hulakdanda, Thakre rural municipality-2 of Dhading district along the Tribhuvan Highway. ASI Babu Lal Shrestha from Mahadevbeshi Police Post informs that Sah died inside the bus.

Both of his kidneys had failed, and he was coming to Kathmandu for dialysis. Family sources say he was sent on the bus as the family could not afford an ambulance.

Now, his body will be sent back to Rautahat, according to Shrestha.

Meanwhile, the jam has extended up to 30 km now. It has already been four days since the smooth operation has halted.
