Kathmandu, September 24
The Prithvi Highway has resumed two-way operation.
Dhading Police said the highway reopened to two-way traffic after landslides near Krishnabhir, in Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality-7, and at a location called Jyamire in Ward No. 9 were cleared.
Following continuous rain, mudslides had occurred at these two locations, which had left the highway operating on a one-way basis on Friday morning.
Earlier, on August 26 and 30, major flooding on the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers had eroded the road at Krishnabhir, blocking the Prithvi Highway for 18 days.
The highway was brought back into operation from Asoj 1 after a new track was opened at Krishnabhir.
