Two-way traffic resumes on Prithvi Highway at Galaundi in Dhading

Kathmandu, October 11

Two-way traffic has resumed on the Galaundi section of the Prithvi Highway in Gajuri, Dhading, after the road was damaged by erosion from the Trishuli River.

The District Administration Office, Dhading, announced the reopening in a notice issued on Sunday, stating that repairs had been completed to restore traffic in both directions in the Galaundi area of Gajuri Rural Municipality-5.

Earlier, the administration had halted all vehicles on the highway after the road subsided. A diversion was subsequently constructed nearby, allowing only light and medium-sized vehicles to pass.

Following repairs, vehicles can now travel in both directions along the affected section.

However, the administration warned that the road remains potentially hazardous, with repair work still ongoing at some locations.

“Since repair work is still underway at some places and risks remain, all drivers, passengers and members of the public travelling along this highway are requested to exercise extreme caution,” the notice said.
