Kathmandu, May 25
President Bidya Devi Bhandari is scheduled to present the government’s annual policies and programmes at the Parliament meeting called for Thursday afternoon.
The head of the state will present the policies and programmes for the next fiscal year 2017/18 in accordance with the constitution.
The policy document would establish foundations for the annual budget statement for the next year that the Finance Minister will present at the House on May 29.
The government has finalised the policies and programmes just incorporating last year’s programmes this year as the Election Commission and other political parties have warned that introducing new programmes would violate the election code of conduct.
The code implemented for local level elections is still in effect as provinces 1, 2, 5 and 7 are yet to undergo voting scheduled for June 14.
