Kathmandu, October 18

Nepal’s principal opposition party UML has said it will demand clarification from the Prime Minister on what actually happened during his informal meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Goa, on Saturday.

This comes as Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and his son Prakash are insisting that the meeting was a trilateral, despite remarks to the contrary by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs.

UML Parliamentary Party’s deputy leader Subas Nembang said the opposition will demands that the Prime Minister explain to Parliament what actually happened during the meeting. “This is an issue related to the country’s presitige and credibility,” said Nembang.

He said,”Event the Indian Prime Minister has expressed concern over misinformation about the meeting. The Indian foreign ministry has presented a strong rebuttal. That is why we want an official take on the issue.”
