Kathmandu, July 7
The postmortem report of Sujita Bhandari, a 23-year-old woman found dead in Chitwan earlier this week, did not tell anything specific about the cause of the death, say investigators.
The death of the woman, who had reportedly been abducted nine days ago, has turned mysterious for the investigators as her family and locals claim she was murdered after the abduction whereas police say this could also be a suicidal case.
An investigator at the Chitwan District Police Office says preparations are underway to do a viscera test with the hope of finding out the cause of the death. This test will reveal if the deceased was poisoned and if she had other diseases among other details. Police had found a poison container near the body.
The postmortem revealed injuries were not the cause of the death. Likewise, investigators had also ruled out the possibility of rape.
