The government has recommended to President Ram Chandra Paudel that the ongoing session of the federal Parliament be prorogued on October 2.
The Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday decided to recommend ending the session on Ashwin 16, which falls on October 2, to the President.
Under the Constitution, the President summons and prorogues a session of the federal Parliament on the recommendation of the Cabinet.
The current session began on May 11. During the session, Parliament passed and endorsed the government’s policies and programmes, the annual budget and bills replacing ordinances.
It also passed and endorsed the Alternative Finance Mobilisation Bill and a bill to revive the previous provisions of the Nepal Special Service Act, 1985.
The Shaheed Dasharath Chand National Health Sciences University Bill was also authenticated during the session.
