Oli, Dahal to address each other’s party meetings

L-R: KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal

Kathmandu, October 29

CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and CPN-Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who are planning to merge their parties after elections scheduled for November 26 and December 7, are planning to address each other’s internal party meetings, apparently to give their cadres the message of unification.

Leaders of the parties say they, however, are yet to finalise dates of the meetings that the leaders will address.

Meanwhile, lower committees and sister organisations of the parties have begun forming joint election mobilisation committees.

Recently, youth wings of both the parties have formed a 3,000-member election publicity committee. Likewise, student wings of the parties are also planning a joint meeting to plan election strategies together.

The meeting will be  held on Wednesday and it will also form a similar joint committee to campaign for the leftist alliance ahead of the polls across the country, according to Maoist student wing’s chairman Ranjit Tamang.
