Kathmandu, October 14

Two chairpersons of the ruling Nepal Communist Party have held a meeting to discuss the recently surfaced dispute among the party leaders in Karnali, on Wednesday.

Earlier this week, the dispute between two factions of the leaders in the province had been exposed with a faction registering a no-confidence motion against the party’s Karnali parliamentary party leader, Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi. The motion, however, has already failed after a negotiation between them.

Nonetheless, it has been learned that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is still not satisfied with Shahi’s performance as the chief minister whereas another chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal wants to give an end to the dispute. Therefore, the meeting between them today could not make any conclusion, according to a source.

“Now, they will discuss options of a solution after meeting leaders of Karnali,” the source says. The two chairpersons have called the leaders involved in the dispute to come to Kathmandu for a meeting on Thursday.
