Kathmandu, April 10
The Ministry of Home Affairs has removed a name from its list of awardees that were scheduled to receive different medals from President Bidya Devi Bhandari on the occasion of Bikram Sambat New Year this weekend.
The Ministry was forced to remove the name of Kailash Matakshe Shrestha, an administrative officer at Bhaktapur District Administration Officer, after he was caught red handed with bribe.
Shrestha was one among the government staff who were entitled to receive the Janasewashree medal from President coming Sunday.
But, the Ministry removed him from the list as the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority filed a case against him, according to Home Ministry joint secretary Mahadev Panta.
The CIAA had nabbed him from a Bhaktapur restaurant few days ago while he was receiving Rs 25,000 kickback from a citizen.
