Number of Covid-19 cases in Nepal reaches 3,235

Kathmandu, June 5

Nepal’s Covid-19 infection tally has reached 3,235 as of Saturday, informs the Ministry of Health and Population.

In his daily press briefing in Kathmandu, the ministry’s spokesperson Bikas Devkota said 323 new cases were reported in the past 24 hours.

Here is the province-wise distribution of the infected cases:

Province 1: 249
Province 2: 1,077
Bagmati: 90
Gandaki: 73
Province 5: 1,061
Karnali: 579
Sudurpaschim: 106

So far, the disease has spread across 70 districts of the country.

A total of 365 people have achieved recovery so far.

Meanwhile, Devkota also announced that the country’s Covid-19 death tally has reached 13. The deceased cases confirmed today included a 58-year-old man from Jagadulla rural municipality of Dolpa, who was in quarantine since May 31 and died on June 3 at 2 am. Another was of a 55-year-old woman from Dhangadhi-4, who died on June 5 at around 12 pm.
