Non-Residential Nepali Association President Bhawan Bhatta was been off-loaded from Silk Air flight to Singapore on Saturday night for being inebriated.

Bhatta, who was on his way to meet Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli in Singapore, and his aide Sanat Neupane were asked to leave the aeroplane by Silk Air crew members after they learnt he was drunk.

Neupane, on his Facebook shared that the captain of the plane approached the duo and told them that he could not fly the aircraft as long as the two were on board. Both were already seated. Neupane, however, says that they were not drunk. They said that he had boarded the flight after attending a business meeting where they did have a few drinks.

“Yes, we did drink, but not a lot as it was a business meeting, not a party. As we were meeting the Prime Minister, we felt we couldn’t not be drinking,” said Neupane.

The two were going to Singapore for business meeting and while they were there, they were going to meet PM KP Sharma Oli and wish him good health.

According to Neupane, both had passed immigration where he mentions there was no problem. He adds that the airlines humiliated the duo, and said both were ashamed of the incident.
