Kathmandu, September 3

The 15th edition of Suryakiran, a joint military exercise between Nepal and India, is beginning on September 20, informs the Nepal Army.

Army Spokesperson Santosh Ballav Poudyal says the edition was scheduled for an earlier time but was deferred due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

During the two-week event to be held in Pithoragadh of India, 350 Indian Army personnel and their 300 Nepali counterparts will participate, he informs.

The date was finalised during a visit of a Nepal Army delegation to India recently.

Suryakiran is the biggest of cross-country military exercises that Nepal participates, in terms of the number of personnel involved. Nepal and India alternately host each edition of the exercise.
