NEPSE: Share transactions reach nearly Rs 30 billion, hits 3-year high

On the last trading day of the week, Thursday, the stock market saw transactions worth Rs 29.95 billion.

This amount is the highest recorded so far. Previously, on Monday, the transaction amount had reached a high of Rs 27.24 billion.

The NEPSE index also increased by 43 points. After this rise, NEPSE stands at 3000.81 points, which is the highest in three years (as of the 15th of Bhadra 2078 BS). At that time, on 2nd of Bhadra, the index had reached a peak record of 3198 points before the market started to decline.

Today, the value of 105 companies increased, while 137 companies saw a decrease, and one company’s value remained stable.

The banking sector index saw the largest increase, rising by 5.65 per cent. Additionally, development banks increased by 1.28 per cent, hotels and tourism by 0.32 per cent, hydropower by 0.79 per cent, investment by 2.69 per cent, non-life insurance by 0.94 per cent, and trading groups by 1.81 per cent.

Finance saw a decrease of 3.05 per cent, life insurance by 0.73 per cent, production by 1.73 per cent, and other groups by 2.30 per cent.

On this day, the values of Butwal Power, National Insurance Company, and Mountain Energy increased by 10 per cent. The values of Nepal Investment Mega increased by 9.6 per cent, NMB Bank by 9.4 per cent, Global IME Bank by 9.2 per cent, Liberty Energy by 9 per cent, Kumari Bank by 8.9 per cent, Maatri Bhumi Microfinance by 8.7 per cent, and API Power by 8.2 pre cent.

The value of Nepal Finance decreased the most by 10 per cent. The values of Vindhya Basini Hydropower decreased by 7.2 per cent, Shubham Power by 7.1 per cent, Midasolu Hydropower by 6.2 per cent, and Upper Hewakhola by 5.6 per cent.

Based on transaction amounts, Himalayan Reinsurance, Sanima My Hydropower, API Power, Kumari Bank, and Nifra were the leading performers.
