NEPSE drops nearly 15 points, closing at 2,634 points

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index fell by 14.87 points on Tuesday, closing at 2,634 points. The market had briefly surged to 2,669 points within the first six minutes of trading, marking the day’s highest level.

Along with the index, overall trading volume also saw a slight decline. While the previous session recorded a turnover of Rs 10.20 billion, today’s figure dropped to Rs 9.63 billion.

A total of 77 companies posted gains, 168 declined, and one remained unchanged. The life insurance sector led the day with a 0.95% increase, driven by improved financial disclosures from most companies in the segment.

Other sectors that gained included development banks 0.88% and manufacturing 0.34%. Meanwhile, the trade sector witnessed the largest drop at 2.46%. Losses were also seen in banking 0.30%, finance 1.91%, hotels and tourism 2.21%, hydropower 1.18%, investment 0.79%, microfinance 0.69%, non-life insurance 0.59%, and others 0.60%.

Crest Micro Life Insurance and Om Megashree Pharmaceuticals both hit the upper limit, gaining 10%. Joshi Hydropower rose by 6.88%, Unnati Sahakarya Laghubitta by 5.44%, and Lumbini Development Bank by 4.22%.

Nepal Micro Insurance recorded the steepest decline at 6.22%, followed by Butwal Power 4.31% and Sikles Hydropower 4.27%.

Top traded companies for the day included Universal Power, Ngadi Group, Nepal Micro Insurance, Sanima Mai Hydropower, and Radhi Power Company.
