Kathmandu, November 27
The NEPSE index increased by 39.70 points on Wednesday, closing at 2,756. The trading volume also rose, with turnover reaching Rs 9.31 billion compared to Rs 7.45 billion on Tuesday.
Out of the traded companies, 200 saw price gains, 38 recorded declines, and 6 remained unchanged. All sectors, except finance, showed growth. The finance sector fell by 0.47%, while the trading sector recorded the highest growth of 9.2%, driven by a 10% price surge in Bishal Bazaar Company.
Sectoral movements included a 3.18% rise in development banks, 1.36% in hotels and tourism, 1.46% in hydropower, and 2.81% in life insurance. Microfinance, manufacturing, non-life insurance, investment, and others also recorded smaller gains.
Nine companies, including Bishal Bazaar Company, Corporate Development Bank, Support Microfinance, Saptakoshi Development Bank, Karnali Development Bank, Sindhu Development Bank, Manushi Microfinance, Green Development Bank, and Super Madi Hydropower, achieved a 10% price increase.
Meanwhile, Mithila Microfinance dropped 10%, followed by Nepal Finance with a 6.77% decline, Three Star Hydropower at 6.52%, and Janaki Finance at 3%. Top performers in terms of trading volume included Janaki Finance, NRN Infrastructure, People’s Hydropower, Nepal Finance, Saptakoshi Development Bank, Best Finance, and Rasuwagadhi Hydropower.
