Nepal’s ace footballer Bimal Gharti Magar returned home from Belgium on Friday upon hearing about the sad demise of his sister, Manisha Gharti Magar (17). He went straight to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital where Manisha’s body has been kept for a post-mortem.

Police suspect Manisha was murdered at her home in Bhutaha, Nawalparsi, on Wednesday night. The incident happened when there was no one else in the house. Manisha’s mother had gone to Butwal, whereas Bimal was in Belgium. The mother found her daughter dead when she returned home on Thursday morning, and informed police. The mother told the gate of the house was open and the lights were out when she returned.

Police have nabbed two suspects in connection with the case, including Ashish Chaudhary of Bhutaha with whom Manisha was said to be in a relationship. Ashish’s mother had told police three youths had brought him home late into Wednesday night.

Unable to control himself, Bimal was seen trying to control his mother in the presence of friends and family members, who were there to console them. In his son’s shoulders, the bereaved mother kept crying.
