Kathmandu, November 27

Nepali Congress General Secretary Shashanka Koirala says his party will emerge as the biggest party from the House of Representatives elections and he will lead the next government as the leader of biggest party after the polls.

Koirala’s statement comes in response to the electoral alliance formed by two major communist forces of the country–CPN-UML and CPN-Maoist Centre–with a bid to win majority seats in the House and lead the next government.

The leader says he is confident of the party’s victory as the party has become united of late.

Speaking with journalists in Kathmandu today, Koirala also claimed he could bring two rival factions within the party, led by Sher Bahadur Deuba and Ram Chadra Paudel, together and become the unopposed candidate for the prime minister from the party.
