Kathmandu, July 17
Nepal will again play against Sri Lanka today in their fourth match of the ongoing SAFF U-20 Women’s Championship in Bangladesh.
Nepal is playing Sri Lanka for the second time in the double round-robin league tournament. This will also be their back-to-back match against Sri Lanka.
In the previous game on Tuesday, Nepal secured a dominant 7–0 victory. Today’s match will kick off at 2:45 PM Nepali time at the Bashundhara Sports Ground.
While the matches were previously held at the Bashundhara Kings Arena, the upcoming four matches will now take place at the Bashundhara Sports Ground.
Due to heavy rainfall on Tuesday, the Kings Arena pitch was damaged. As a result, the second half of the match between Bangladesh and Bhutan couldn’t be played there and had to be shifted to another ground. Nepal’s match was also delayed and started at the alternate venue.
Nepal had defeated Bhutan 6–1 in their first match on Friday but lost 3–2 to Bangladesh in the second match.
Sri Lanka suffered a heavy 9–1 defeat to Bangladesh in their opening match and then lost 5–0 to Bhutan in the second.
In the points table, Bangladesh leads with 9 points from 3 matches, Nepal stands second with 6 points from 3 matches, and Bhutan is third with 3 points.
