Nepal seeks Zurich Airport’s detailed proposal on Nijgadh International Airport

Kathmandu, September 23

Six companies who had applied to build the disputed Nijgadh International Airport have been deemed unqualified.

According to the Investment Board, only Zurich International Airport has been deemed qualified for such a massive project.

The board meeting held on Monday has asked Zurich International Airport to send a detailed proposal. During the investment summit held in Kathmandu a few months ago, Nepal had showcased Nijgadh International Airport.

Similarly, the board has accepted all three proposals submitted for building the Lower Arun Hydropower Project. Indian company ASJVN, Chinese company China Power and Japanese Company J Power had shown interest in building the project. The board has asked all three companies send a detailed proposal about how they will built the project.
