Kathmandu, August 22

Issuing yet another directive on Monday, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ told Minister for Supplies Dipak Bohora to ease the supply of petroleum products and also conduct regular market monitoring.

PM Prachanda, talking to Minister Bohora over the phone, told the latter to address the oil shortage seen in the Kathmandu Valley without delay. He also directed Bohora to step up market monitoring to ease the supply situation.

Prachanda further said: We have information that there’s a shortage of petroleum products in the valley, that there are lines around fuel stations. Find the reason behind this and make efforts to address this problem at the earliest.

PM Prachanda also told Minister Bohora to ensure smooth supply of essentials in the market

The PM also told Minister Bohora to ensure smooth supply of essentials in the market.

On his part, Minister Bohora said problems have cropped up in the valley with regard to fuel supply due to three days of public holiday. Bohora said he will ensure smooth supply of petroleum products.

Meanwhile, customers seem to have no option but to wait for hours in long lines for refuelling

Despite minister’s pledge and Nepal Oil Corporation’s claim that it has supplied enough petroleum products in the market, customers seem to have no option but to wait for hours in long lines for refuelling.
