Kathmandu, December 22
Speaker Onsari Gharti has postponed the Parliament meeting scheduled for Thursday till December 25. Speaker Gharti is under pressure from the ruling coalition to exhaust opposition parties by extending the Parliament meeting.
Gharti had given major political parties till Thursday to reach an understanding and resume parliamentary proceedings. As the parties failed to come to an understanding within the deadline, Speaker Gharti postponed the meeting, a source said.
The Parliament Secretariat on Thursday issued a notice informing about postponement of the House meeting up till 1 pm on December 25, Sudarshan Kuinkel, assistant spokesperson for the secretariat, informed.
